So after eating approximately $30 worth of new seedlings that we so lovingly tended to for just over 48hrs...and x3 bags of chicken pellets and mash...
...Pecker the chook laid the first golden egg...in the vege garden.
Almost as a heartfelt way of saying... 'about those vegetables we ate, and all that silly talk about roast chicken...
..why...here's an egg!'
So over a romantic dinner for two, Justin and I debated over who gets to eat this memorable embryonic wonder.
There almost certainly will be cage fighting. Perhaps chook-cage fighting. It is a pretty good looking egg.
Stay tuned to find out 'Who gets to eat the golden egg'; 'Which chook will lay the next one'; 'More scandals in the vege garden'; and 'We now have eggs - disappointingly why this doesn't mean the start of an early retirement' (But it does mean the beginning of a beautiful friendship with our chookychooks).
There's only one thing to do when you get the first egg, and that's a 'first egg montage'...and here it is... (to the tune of 'Eye of the tiger'...just hum it to yourself if you like)...
